South Bay Power Station (OMPPA) Underground Transmission Line Project, CA

Wilson installed 10 miles of double circuit 230kV transmission lines comprising of two segments of the Otay - Mesa Power Loop equaling 320,000 feet of cable installation, 210 splices, and 24 terminations.

The project began in the busy SDG&E Old Town Substation and ran along the famous Pacific Coast Highway through Downtown San Diego and included a 3,500-foot pull through an HDPE directional bore under an environmentally sensitive Sweetwater Marsh. Wilson's scope of work included the cable pulling as well as supporting the cable manufacturer's jointing teams. The cable was manufactured by Silec Cable of France.
