Location: Albuquerque, NM
Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening at our Albuquerque, NM Office for a self-motivated Assistant Project Manager with a positive, team-oriented outlook.
This position will assist in providing project management support on utility distribution and transmission-line construction projects along with developing, planning, and coordinating the technical work for electrical/utility construction projects.
This is an office position with the majority of work hours to be spent in an office setting and field site visits in the project area as required; minimal travel outside the area may be required. This position will support the Albuquerque office as well as team with the headquarter office under the direction of the Onsite Project Manager.
Responsibilities include:
· Assisting General Foreman, Project Managers and Schedulers with various administrative tasks
· Daily data entry of project status (QA/QC, delivery of materials)
· Preparing 3- and 5-day look-ahead
· Preparing RFIs, transmittals/submittals
· Scheduling of materials and tracking delivery
· Assisting with approval of material invoices
· Tracking and reporting of equipment and vehicles in the right of way daily
· Maintaining various spreadsheets
· Environmental SWPPP support
· Errands as needed to deliver paperwork
Requirements include:
· 3 years of project management or work study experience related to construction (utility preferred)
· Scheduling experience related to construction projects
· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
· Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
· Proficiency in Primavera P6 is a plus
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong organization skills to include:
o Coordinating, tracking, and meeting deadlines;
o Following up;
o Handling multiple tasks in a fluctuating work environment; and
o Multi-tasking efficiently
· Analytical thinking skills
· Self-Motivated
· Ability to work independently while still contributing to the team
· Willingness to help where needed for the benefit of the team
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff and personality types
· Must maintain a valid driver license and reliable transportation
